!! MAJOR CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT !!

Music Entrepreneurship Education: Catching the Second Wave

2010

CMS Summit - Jan. 15-17, 2010 - Nashville, TN.

The College Music Society and the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) will be holding a joint conference January 15-17, 2010 in Nashville, TN during the USASBE National Conference.

CMS Summits examine a particular topic in music training. This inaugural CMS Summit will initiate an in-depth discussion of music entrepreneurship education specifically for those in higher education administrative roles. The outcome of the conference will be a handbook outlining the steps to institutionalization in music schools and universities.

Though the Summit will focus on the needs of those in music administration, Arts Entrepreneurship Educators based in Business Schools are especially encouraged to attend as this will be an excellent chance to not only meet new colleagues but gain an understanding of how those in the Arts view entrepreneurship education for their students, faculties and institutions. To support this understanding, there is a specific session for business educators that will explain how the discipline “thinks” - this alone is worth the price of admission!

CMS members can register for the conference for $100 on the
conference website beginning Nov. 2, 2009.

Additionally, CMS members can attend the USASBE National Conference on Friday, Jan. 15th for $75 thanks to a CMS scholarship.

USASBE members can attend the CMS potion of the event at Vanderbuilt University Jan. 16-17, 2010 for $75/day.
